Get the most out of RavionX DevKit.

Everything you need to install, use, and trust the local-first developer toolkit.

Getting started · extension 1.0.0

The Chrome extension is in pre-release; installation from the Store will be available after approval. It requires Chrome 116 or later. Use Web Tools Lite now without installing.

When installed, click the icon to open the popup, open the full workspace or side panel, and choose Formatter, Diff, Schema, or Tools. No account is required.

Extension tools

JSON Formatter: beautify, minify, sort keys, escape/unescape, tree view, and local file import/export. XML, YAML and SQL formatting are not implemented.

Diff: JSON and YAML structured comparison, additions/removals/changes, and bounded inline highlights. Complex values use whole-value highlighting. Arbitrary plain-text diff is not supported.

Schema: documented Draft-07 subset with local JSON Pointer references and sample-based schema inference. Other dialects, remote references, unknown keywords and unsupported formats return errors. Inference samples the first array element.

Utilities: Base64, URL encoding/decoding, timestamp conversion, JWT decoding (no signature verification), UUID generation, SHA hashing, color conversion, regex testing, and cron parsing.

Schema support

Validation keywords: type, enum, const, required, properties, patternProperties, additionalProperties, minProperties, maxProperties, propertyNames, dependencies, items, additionalItems, contains, minItems, maxItems, uniqueItems, minimum, maximum, exclusiveMinimum, exclusiveMaximum, multipleOf, minLength, maxLength, pattern, format, allOf, anyOf, oneOf, not, if, then, else. Local definitions and $ref are supported.

Title, description, default, examples, readOnly, writeOnly and $comment are annotations, not transformations or access controls. Draft-07 $ref validation siblings must move into allOf. This is not comprehensive support for every JSON Schema dialect or format.

Input and execution limits

General extension inputs: 10,000,000 characters; file imports: 10,000,000 bytes. JSON nesting is limited to 64 levels. Schema validation: 1,000,000 characters per input and a 1.5-second worker deadline. Regex: 2,000 pattern characters, 100,000 text characters, and a 1.5-second deadline.

Tree rendering falls back to text above 200,000 characters, 5,000 values or 32 levels. Diff highlighting has per-value and aggregate complexity budgets. Inputs below a size limit can still exceed complexity or time limits.

Browser integration and privacy

Select text, then choose “Format with RavionX DevKit” from the context menu. Chrome cannot expose the clicked DOM target during action-time capture; select code first for reliable results. Restricted Chrome pages may require manual copy/paste.

The JSON-page helper is off by default and asks for optional HTTP/HTTPS website access when enabled in Settings. It inspects supported JSON pages locally after reload. Disabling removes helpers and the optional access.

History is off by default. Explicit opt-in stores full inputs and outputs locally: 50 entries, 64 KiB per entry, 1 MiB total. Sensitive-data checks are best-effort; disabling deletes history. Legacy automatic history is deleted before fresh opt-in. Temporary handoffs use session storage with two-minute expiry, four pending entries and a 4 MiB total budget.

Read the privacy policy for capture, retention, deletion and permissions. Processing locally and persisting locally are separate behaviors.

Use the workspace buttons when a browser shortcut takes precedence.

Web Tools Lite

The website offers six smaller tools: JSON formatting, JSON-only diff, a schema subset, JWT decoding, Base64, and URL encoding. It has no extension integrations or saved history.

The web schema checker accepts only type, enum, required, properties, items, title and description; unsupported rules fail explicitly. Web inputs are limited to 200,000 characters, JSON to 48 levels and 10,000 values, and diff to 5,000 rows. These limits differ from the extension.
